Is honey the reason you have a huge sticky mess on your favourite shirt? Well, I love honey but it can cause stains which are sticky which is why you need to immediately start treating the stained area. But don’t worry – honey can easily be removed, just follow these steps!
All you need to prepare in order to remove honey stains is a spoon, laundry detergent, hydrogen peroxide/ vinegar or lemon juice.
How To Remove Honey Stains?
Start off with getting a spoon and scooping as much of the honey as possible. That way you will be able to easily treat the stain.
Then you need to rinse the stained area with cold water. Simply go to your sink, turn the cold water, and hold the fabric under the running water for a minute or so.
Now it’s time to treat the stain with laundry detergent. Apply some on the stain and rub it in with your fingers. Let it sit for a few minutes so that the detergent can work it’s magic then rinse again.
If the stain remains move on to using something more powerful than the laundry detergent. I recommend hydrogen peroxide or vinegar. If you hate the smell of vinegar and want to avoid it you can also use lemon juice. It’s just as powerful and won’t cause any damage to the fabric.
Apply the ingredient of your choice with a sponge and gently blot the area. Continue doing this for a minute or so then rinse. Now, check the clothing item and make sure the stain is completely removed. Continue treating the stain until it’s gone!
Once you make sure it’s gone – throw the clothing item in the washing machine and wash as usual.
